I run 5 days a week for 30 min each day and lift weight for 1 hour and 30 min Mon-Fri. I have been trying to eat healthy, lots of protein, necessary carbs, fat etc. How long would it take to lose enough to start seeing my abs, chest…?

Most nutritionist will tell you that you can take off a pound a week if you cut out 500 cals a day/week. However depending on how your body stores fat you may take more or less time to get results. Fat is stored according to areas on the body called fat depots. Your body uses this to determine where to store fat as well as where to burn it when burning is needed. Your stomach may be the last place your body takes fat from. Not to say your body takes fat from one place and not another, but it will take more fat from certain depots than others. I know in my case I lose fat in my face and neck first and usually my lower body is the last thing to go (i’m a woman by the way so it would no doubt be different for you as a male). As for the pectoral region, that is a different type of muscle which, unlike the smooth muscle of the abdomin, can be built up like you would arm or leg muscles. Chest exercises can be done to gain mass in that area so it will be more pronounced.
